Whether you need someone to manage the full community consultation process for you, or just some extra support to help you get it right, I can provide the services below together or individually.
I tailor my approach to suit project timescales and budgets, and work alongside graphic designers, photographers and web developers to provide all the skills needed to deliver effective community and stakeholder engagement.
Community & political research
It’s vital to understand who’s who before you consult, to make sure you engage with the right people in the right ways. My research looks at the local community, politicians, key media and interest groups; as well as relevant planning history.
Community & stakeholder engagement
A variety of different tools and techniques can used to engage with communities and decision makers, including public exhibitions, newsletters, briefings, press releases, and websites.
I can manage the full process, including production of materials.
Consultation reporting & analysis
I can manage all enquiries and maintain a full record of feedback. I produce Statements of Community Consultation that detail the consultation process and, vitally, how an application responds to the comments received.
Consultation strategy
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to public and stakeholder consultation. I develop engagement strategies based on the findings of research, always with the aim of running an inclusive and robust process.
Mobilising support
The planning system doesn’t actively encourage people in support of proposals to have their say. I adopt a number of techniques to provide a planning committee with evidence of genuine local support.
Online consultation
Online consultation is a vital tool for engaging with a broader audience. I work with online engagement specialists to create websites that are easy to use and simple to update, and that collect valuable consultation feedback.
